The Midwest Region of the Society of General Internal Medicine recently held its annual meeting at Navy Pier. Northwestern had a very strong performance and won a number of awards.

Heather Heiman, MD received the Society of General Internal Medicine's Clinical Educator Award for the Midwest Region. Presenting the award to her is Andy Anderson, MD, of Aurora Health Care in Milwaukee and president of the Midwest Region SGIM for 2011-2012. Dr. Anderson is a former Northwestern faculty member.

• Planning a career in heme-onc

• Daughter of a teacher, has won numerous teaching awards from her medical students

Jill Rosno, MD & Chetan Huded, MD

• Met in medical school at Dartmouth

• “Nebraska gal and East Coast guy” enjoying Chicago

• Planning a wedding for next September in Lincoln, NE

• Interdisciplinary award winners: teaching, bake-off, Rambach Award (Chetan)

• When not at the hospital, can likely find them out running

Allergy-Immunology Fellowship

The goals of the Allergy & Immunology Division at Northwestern University in the Department of Medicine are

To train internists and pediatricians to become leaders in the field of Allergy-Immunology who are highly competent in diagnosing and managing patients with a broad spectrum of allergic and immunologic conditions, and in educating patients, their families and health care professionals.

Information for Trainees — Course Work

Required Courses for trainees in the T32 NUAIR Program

  • Introductory Immunology Course (Division of Allergy-Immunology, see above): 15 sessions of 1h over 3 months. Trainees must reach an average of over 75 out of 100 points in its 3 examinations.
