Message from Diane B. Wayne MD, Vice Chair, Education:

As you all know, we underwent routinely scheduled site visits of 12 accredited programs when the internal medicine RRC (ACGME) visited us for 4 weeks last August. I am pleased to let you know that we received a full 5 year accreditation cycle - the longest that is offered - for all of our programs. It is highly unusual for this to occur, and we have now done this twice in a row, putting us at the very top level of programs.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the faculty for their dedication to our training programs as well as our talented residents and fellows for making education in the Department such a priority and success. Finally, I would like to acknowledge the support of Dr. Vaughan as well as recognize the dedicated program directors and coordinators in our Department.
