Every patient deserves quality healthcare. To achieve this goal, our research examines quality measurement and quality improvement, in particular using electronic health record systems. Our researchers have led studies examining many aspects of quality, including whether hospital mortality “report cards” lead to changes in market share for hospitals and improvements in outcomes, the effect of disease management programs for patients with heart failure, and an evaluation of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement’s Improving Chronic Illness Care Collaborative.
