Application Procedure

Applications will be accepted through ERAS after November 2008, for the program beginning July 1, 2010. Fellows are selected for the program on the Uniform Acceptance Date in June 2009, approximately 13 months before the start date of July 1, 20010. Fellows selected are chosen on the strength of prior training, demonstrated clinical competence, and potential for an academic career in basic or clinical research in Hematology/Oncology bench and/or clinical research.

The timeline for the application process is as follows

 Late June 2008

ERAS 2008 fellowship applicant manuals will be available for PDF       
download by chapters or in its entirety

July 1, 2008

EFDO begins to generate and distribute MyERAS tokens

July 1, 2008

MyERAS Web site opens to applicants to begin working on their applications

November 15, 2008 

Applicants may apply to December apllication cycle programs

December 1, 2008

ERAS PostOffice opens to December application cycle programs for downloading

May 31, 2009

ERAS PostOffice will close to prepare for the 2009 season

April-June 2009   

Match results become available for December start fellowship specialties that
hold  matches

July 1, 2010  

Fellows begin their training

From the total number of applicants with completed files, approximately 50 will be invited to come in for a day of interviews with faculty members in the Division of Hematology/Oncology before the final selection of fellows is made. We will start to download completed applications from ERAS in December 2008. Applicants may be contacted as early as January 2009 and invited to interview during one of our five interview dates scheduled between March 13 and April 3, 2009.
