Rheumatology Fellowship

We are excited that you are considering undertaking your Rheumatology Fellowship training at Northwestern.

The Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine is ranked by US News and World Report as one of the top 20 medical schools in the United States, and our Rheumatology practice is ranked by US News and Word Report as one of the top 20 hospital-based Rheumatology programs in the United States.
Further, Northwestern Memorial Hospital is ranked #1 by US News and World Report on its newly-developed listing of "Best Hospitals" in the Chicago, Illinois metropolitan area (includes Evanston, Joliet, and Naperville).  This ranking is based in part on the fact that our programs in Rheumatology and other key specialties are ranked highly by US News and World Report.

In addition, eight of our faculty have been named to the most recent "Best Doctors in America®" database by Best Doctors, Inc., and six have been named "Top Doctors®" by Castle Connolly.

Our fellowship in rheumatology prepares individuals for careers in academic clinical or clinical rheumatology. The program meets the requirements for board eligibility in rheumatology.

We are pleased to announce that after a routinely scheduled site visit by the internal medicine RRC (ACGME) in August of 2010, the Rheumatology fellowship program at Northwestern received a full 5 year accreditation cycle - the longest that ACGME awards.   This is the second time in a row that Northwestern has scored a "clean sweep," in which all 12 of the accredited programs it offers were given maximum accreditation status -- a rare honor.
