SNMA Conference

On Saturday April 3, The Department of Medicine sponsored a Residency “mix and mingle” as part of the Annual Student National Medical Association (SNMA) Meeting in Chicago. The SNMA is the nation's oldest and largest independent, student-run organization focused on the needs and concerns of medical students of color, and currently has over 8000 members. During the mix and mingle, residents and faculty from multiple Feinberg Departments interacted with engaged students from all over the US. Picture here are meeting attendees (left to right) Khari Reed, Director Medical Affairs NMH, PGY2 residents Dave Gupta and Ed McDonald, Peter Sporn, Pulmonary Fellowship Director and SNMA Chapter Advisor at Northwestern, PGY1 resident Cristi Garcia, cardiology fellow Dave Montgomery, and faculty members Dr. Stevie Mazyck, Aashish Didwania, Charles Watts and Keenan Hawkins. Dr Didwania is an Associate Program Director of the Residency Program. Drs. Hawkins and Mazyck are the co-presidents of the Department of Medicine Diversity and Cultural Affairs Council and Dr. Watts is Chief Medical Office, NMH.
