Residents Volunteer at Health and Wellness Fair
Interns Sergio Chiarella and Jill Rosno, along with Chief Medical Resident Nick Furiasse volunteered their Friday night to support community health and wellness on December 2, 2011.
Over one hundred people from the West Humboldt Park neighborhood attended the health fair, presented by the Kelly Hall YMCA, provided vital screening for diabetes, hypertension, obesity and hyperlipidemia to a underserved population on the west side of the city. The free event also included prizes and fun wellness activities, including: stress relief tips, cooking healthy on a budget, family fitness, and ask the health expert.
Northwestern's community partners at Erie Family Health, Near North Clinic and Community Health Clinic were all in attendance to improve access to care.
