Senior Dinner 2011
Each year we acknowledge the contributions and accomplishments of graduating residents at the annual senior dinner. After comments from Department of Medicine Chairman, Dr. Douglas Vaughan, an award ceremony was held to recognize excellence in the faculty and graduates. We wish all the best to our wonderful, dedicated, and highly talented senior resident class!
Excellence in Teaching Award: Jay Paparello, Sanjiv Shah, Josh Levitsky, Eytan Szmuilowicz, Grazia Aleppo, Sarah Sutton, Rich Wunderick, John Flaherty, Aashish Didwania, Patrick Ryscavage, Kathryn Radigan
Bestowed by the Class of 2011 to faculty members and fellows for their outstanding contribution to the educational mission of the Department of Medicine.
Blunck Award: Tiffany Malli
Established in memory of Dr. Jay F. Blunck, a former director of Medical Education, awarded to the senior resident whose commitment to general internal medicine and teaching best reflects Dr. Blunck.
Grumet Award: Colleen McEvoy
Established in memory of Dr. Gerald M. Grumet, a former resident, fellow, and faculty member, awarded to the senior resident who is voted best teacher by the intern class.
Patterson Award: Liz Apolonio Established in honor of Dr. Roy Patterson, former Chairman of the Department of Medicine, awarded to the faculty member voted the best teaching attending by the senior residents.
Landsberg Award: Monika Arora
Established in honor of Dr. Lewis Landsberg, former Chairman and Dean, awarded to the senior resident who has exhibited unparalleled leadership and professionalism throughout residency.
Webster Award: Sean McCarthy
Established in honor of Dr. James R. Webster Jr., former Chief of the Medical Service, given by the Chief Medical Residents to the senior resident who best emulates Dr. Webster’s qualities as a gifted clinician, teacher, and humanitarian.
