CHC Resident Physician of the Year
Dr. Antonio Alvarado was named the 2012 Resident Physician of the Year from the Community Health Clinic.
Fulltime staff and faculty at the CHC voted Tony for this award in appreciation of his commitment to his patients at the CHC. The award recognizes his "invaluable commitment and service to Community Health and ongoing support of the belief that no one should go without healthcare."
The Community Health Clinic provides free healthcare to patients without insurance. Many residents have a weekly continuity clinic, and there are volunteer clinics every Saturday morning.
"It’s rewarding to have a general medicine continuity clinic that serves the underprivileged in Chicago," says Tony.
Tony is currently a third year resident, and he will be a fellow in the Division of Nephrology starting next July.

Last year, Northwestern Memorial Hospital was the second largest provider of charity care in Illinois. Click here to learn more about Northwestern's commitment to community service.
