ACP Meeting 2008-9

Northwestern residents came out in force for the October 2008 Illinois ACP meeting held at Loyola University in Maywood, IL. The presentations included research posters and clinical vignettes. Lisa Van Wagner won the vignette competition with a thoughtful presentation of a patient with copper deficiency and Rashmee Shah received third prize in research for her poster on Congestive Heart Failure in Women.

Each year, American College of Physician chapters all across the country hold Associates meetings. A favorite event at these state-wide events is medical jeopardy, known as "Doctor's Dilemma." In October 2008, Northwestern's team won the Illinois contest. PGY1 Alicia Peterson, PGY2 Ben Singer and PGY3 Raman Khanna then took their skills to the Annual Meeting in May 2009 where they competed against other state champions. In a flashback to 2005, Northwestern again took the championship and received the Osler Cup from the ACP. As Raman has graduated and moved on to fellowship at UCSF, a new team member will be added for the fall 2009!
