Clinical Instructor of Medicine (General Internal Medicine and Geriatrics)

I am a primary care provider specializing in internal medicine. I am currently only accepting patients in a retainer practice based model, also referred to as "concierge medicine." My work aims to eliminate health disparities in U.S. Latinos by examining the underlying causes and developing interventions to address them. Since 2007, my colleagues and I have focused on community health workers as a culturally-competent workforce to promote health and prevent disease in this population. Partnered closely with community-based organizations, we have developed and tested community health worker programs to prevent cancer, cardiovascular disease, and most recently diabetes.
