Message from the Division Chief
The Division of General Internal Medicine and Geriatrics is composed of a large, dynamic, and diverse group of clinicians, educators, and researchers. Our faculty members also play a major role in teaching medical students at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and residents in the Department of Medicine. We are always working to develop and test innovative teaching methods and tools to help keep our programs at the forefront of medical education. Our researchers strive to increase our understanding of disease, improve quality of care, improve doctor-patient communication and health education, and find ways to reduce disparities in care and ensure that all people get the medical care they need. Our full-time faculty physicians see patients in the Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation (NMFF) clinic. The NMFF clinic has state-of-the-art electronic medical records with nationally-recognized quality and safety improvement programs. We also have an outstanding group of faculty who practice in the Veteran’s Administration, Community Health Centers, and independent practices around Chicago. I am proud to be a part of this outstanding group.
Sincerely, David W. Baker, MD, MPH
