Charlotta Weaver is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, and Director of Operations for Oncology and Gynecology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. She graduated from University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 2005 and completed internal medicine residency at Northwestern in 2008, when she joined the Division of Hospital Medicine as an oncology hospitalist. In 2016 she completed a Master’s Degree in Health Quality and Patient Safety from NU. In addition to her operational role, she also serves as Director of Faculty Development and Recruitment for Hospital Medicine.

During her time at Northwestern, Dr. Weaver has also served as Medical Director for the Oncology Hospitalist Service and Unit, Lead Medical Director in Clinical Documentation and PACT physician champion. As Associate Practice Director in Hospital Medicine she led initiatives around faculty development, incentive compensation, and practice optimization. She co-chairs the NM Cancer Quality Committee and NM Gynecology Quality and Operations Committee, and is a member of the Physician Engagement Action, Health Quality and Patient Safety Curriculum, and NM Quality Management committees. She has been involved in numerous quality improvement efforts at NMH, including reducing inpatient falls and CLABSIs/CAUTIs, improving documentation, care coordination, and optimizing end-of-life care and communication in both the in- and outpatient setting.

She has published research on improving teamwork and communication on inpatient oncology units and reducing blood transfusions among hospitalized patients with cancer. She is actively involved in the Society of Hospital Medicine, serves on the Academic Committee, and chairs the Annual Meeting Speed Mentoring Session.[Shorten text]
