Patients may be eligible to participate in clinical trials, which test drugs, surgical procedures, medical devices or interventions to determine their safety and effectiveness in treating specific diseases.

Clinical interests include cancer biology, viral oncogenesis, tumor invasion and metastasis, hormones and signal transduction in cancer and cancer genes and molecular regulation.

Infectious Disease Center
Clinical interests include HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, solid organ transplant infectious diseases, infections in stem cell recipients, antimicrobial stewardship and infection control, orthopedic and other surgical infections and travel-related infections.
Nephrology (Kidney) and Hypertension
Clinical interests include diabetes, dialysis, electrolyte disorders, hypertension, kidney transplants, renal disease and failure and transition from pediatric to adult patient care.
Pulmonary and Respiratory Care
Clinical interests include adult cystic fibrosis, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, bronchiectasis, chronic respiratory failure, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, interstitial lung disease and pulmonary fibrosis, lung cancer, lung transplant, occupational lung diseases, pulmonary embolism and hypertension, sleep disorders and smoking cessation.
